The City Innovation and Technology Grand Challenge (“The Grand Challenge”) is now open for application!
The Grand Challenge is an Innovation and Technology competition organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC), in partnership with the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTPC). The Hong Kong Academy of Sciences, including its chapter, The Hong Kong Young Academy of Sciences, is honoured to be one of the supporting organisations as well.
The Grand Challenge aims at engaging people to submit their innovative ideas and transform them into impactful solutions to address imminent livelihood issues. The theme of The Grand Challenge is set to be “Innovating for Hong Kong’s New Normal”, with focus on two sub-themes, namely “Environmental Sustainability” and “Social Connectivity”. Participants are invited to provide innovative solutions to tackle problems faced by the city and people in their daily lives under this year’s theme.
The competition is open for participation from all walks of life, including primary, secondary and tertiary student groups, as well as open groups. Winners will be awarded cash prizes and trophies. Deadline for application is 30 Jun 2021.
